Accessibility and inclusivity

We believe that public services should be accessible to all, and our event reflects this commitment to inclusivity

We want to remove barriers so that everyone can attend. That's why admission is free, and we also offer a travel and childcare bursary to help with costs.

If you need any support, simply let us know—we are here to help.

Food and dietary needs

We provide a free selection of delicious food and drinks to keep your creativity flowing. Vegan and halal options will be available, and if you have any specific dietary needs, please let us know during registration so we can accommodate you.

Bilingual and sign language support

Our website and materials are available in both Welsh and English.

As the event opens, we will use both languages and translate English to British Sign Language (BSL) ensuring that everyone has a warm welcome.

Diversity and representation

We are committed to increasing diversity at GovCamp. If you are from the Deaf, or global majority, communities, please contact us and we will help you secure your place, as tickets are in high demand.

Ground rules - our code of conduct

Your comfort and safety are a top priority. We have a code of conduct to maintain high standards of respect and behaviour, creating a safe, welcoming environment for all.

Pre-event preparation

To help you feel prepared, we will share short videos ahead of the event showing the route from the station and key areas within the venue. This way, you will know what to expect before you arrive.

Accessibility at the venue

The venue provides services to ensure everyone’s comfort, including:

  • level access

  • braille signage

  • hearing loop systems

  • accessible toilets

  • assistance dogs are welcome

  • wheelchairs available for loan

  • prayer / contemplation room

  • parent and toddler room and baby changing facilities

  • male and female security

On-site support

When you arrive, you will be greeted by our friendly Camp Makers—volunteers who will help you check in. You receive a lanyard with your name badge, which includes a map and schedule. The lanyard and stickers also allow you to indicate your preferences for interaction with other participants, ensuring you feel comfortable throughout the event.

Quiet room and wellbeing support

If you need a moment to yourself, we have a quiet room—a comfortable, softly lit space where you can relax. The room is also available for breastfeeding.

Prayer room

A prayer space will be available, and we have planned the event, so you have time to pray.

Feedback on your experience

We know that the event won't be perfect for everyone's needs but we are trying our best and always learning.  Please share your ideas for improvement and give us feedback as we are always looking to improve.

We look forward to welcoming you to GovCamp Cymru, where inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do.
