Top tips for pitching at GovCamp Cymru
You’re full of ideas for GovCamp Cymru, but the thought of pitching might feel a bit daunting.
Don’t worry—you’re not alone, and we’re here to make sure you feel comfortable sharing your ideas!
The theme is reimagining public services. We want to hear your thoughts on how we can create better, more innovative services for Wales.
What makes a good pitch?
A good pitch doesn’t need to be fancy—it just needs to be under 30 seconds, be clear and spark interest.
What we want
Ideas that encourage discussion and collaboration
Sessions that bring different perspectives and voices
Proposals that spark curiosity and exploration
What we don’t want
GovCamp Cymru is about open conversations, not sales pitches. Please avoid:
business pitches or promoting products/services
overly polished presentations—we’re here to explore ideas, not finalise them
Remember, you don’t need to have all the answers! GovCamp is about exploring ideas together, so invite others to share their thoughts.
Pitching options
There are two ways to pitch your session:
Pitch on the day - share your idea in person on the morning of the event.
Submit your pitch online in advance - this option allows you to take your time preparing or request a camp maker to pitch on your behalf.
How to submit your pitch in advance
To submit your pitch online, we’ll need the following:
your name
session title
a short description of your idea
will you present it yourself?
your preferred time slot, plus any alternatives
Deadline: Online pitching closes at 10pm on Wednesday 6 November.
Prepare and relax
If you’re feeling anxious about pitching, don’t worry.
We’ve created a quiet space on the day where you can prepare, or just take a breather before or after your session.
Happy pitching!
We look forward to hearing your ideas on the day.
Please note: we may merge sessions with similar themes, especially if there are more sessions than session slots available.
